Local Staples™ to kick-off 2nd annual drawing for $400 a school supply shopping spree to Charlotte teachers
CHARLOTTE, NC, AUGUST 14, 2010- With cutbacks in school funding amidst our current fragile economy, Staples™(Smith Corners location, exit 18 off I-77) will team up with apair of local chiropractic physicians to provide one lucky teacher on “Teacher Appreciation Day” with a $400 school supply shopping spree before students return to school next week.
Teacher Appreciation Day is a yearly event held at multiple Staples™ locations throughout Charlotte and surrounding regions. This annual event involves school supply give-a-ways, door-crasher specials, prizes and gifts from local business vendors who donate their time and resources to help equip teachers with their back-to-school needs. With continuing budget cuts in CMS funding and other school boards, teachers have been known to spend as much as $500 worth out-of-pocket expenses (non-reimbursable) to equip their classrooms with teaching supplies required for their own particular learning environment.
Two local Charlotte/Huntersville Maximized Living doctors, Dr. Brent Maxwell D.C. and Dr. Aaron Ernst D.C. have donated the $400 gift certificate that will be drawn shortly following the “Teacher Appreciation Day” at Staples™ north Charlotte location on Saturday August 14, 8am-1pm.With the direction and planning of the event initiated by Staples customer service manager Samantha Mullins, this annual tradition continues at a time when teachers need the most help.
